Black History Month

October marks Black History Month, it is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contributions of black people through history.
We were at event to celebrate a day of community celebration including family activities, cultural dance, food, performance and much more.
BWAE offered the wider public the opportunity to engage with culture and history with a variety of activities.

Firstsite is 10 years and has been Awarded Museum of the year

Sept 2021

Huge congratulations @ Firstsite Colchester on winning museum of the year award. We had a stall with food, henna and saree modelling in celebration.

We also hold many of our activities at First site, we are grateful for their support and look forward to working with the team in the future.

Rice & Spice Festival

Sept 2021

Colchester’s diverse community was celebrated through food, music, stalls and performances at the annual festival of Rice and Spice Festival.
BWAE members were on stall with traditional clothes and henna.
Such a beautiful days exploring different cultures through a range of traditional activities including dance and music !
